The much-anticipated pick for the Democratic Vice Presidential spot has been decided. Former Vice President, Joe Biden has chosen California Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate, for what will be one of the most dynamic Presidential Elections in our nation’s history.

HURRAH FOR HARRIS
The response on Social Media has been electric in support of Biden’s decision to choose Kamala Harris as his Vice Presidential pick, with over 450k likes in less than an hour of sending a confirmation tweet signifying a huge hurrah for Harris. Despite critics concern, Joe may take issue with Harris calling him out on the Democratic Debate stage, Biden seems to have embraced the idea of having a team of rivals that will challenge and strengthen his Presidency. The two appear to have genuine fondness and respect for one another.
Joe Biden and the Democratic Party have been very lucky. Since the beginning, the Party has had many experienced Candidates, more than capable of the Presidency. When it was clear Biden would be the presumptive Democratic Presidential Nominee, Biden announced early on he would commit to choosing a woman as his running mate. Once Joe Biden confirmed he would choose a woman as his Vice President, the vetting began.
A WOMAN WILL LEAD US
In a progressive political move, Democrats were embracing its most prominent constituent bases, pronouncing with the VP decision, a woman will lead us as second in command. As with the amazing talented choices for the Democratic Presidential Candidates, it was clear early on the same would be true in finding a female running mate. The Democratic Citizen base had an array of heavy hitters, making Biden’s decision a tough one.
Of the top five women considered for the Presidential VP position, any one of them was more than qualified and capable of stepping into the position as the second in command from day one. In addition, just as ready to lead a second term as President.
CNN’s The Point ranked the shortlist as follows:
5. Karen Bass: It’s uniquely possible that had Biden made the pick 10 days ago, this California congresswoman (and former speaker of the California Assembly) would have been the choice.
4. Tammy Duckworth: The Illinois senator’s personal story is the sort of thing that would appeal across the political aisle if she is the pick.
3. Gretchen Whitmer: At the start of this whole process, the Michigan governor was at (or near) the top of everyone’s list.
2. Susan Rice: The more Biden looks like a winner, the higher the former UN ambassador in the Obama Administration rises.
1. Kamala Harris: I’ve been doing these rankings every week for the last four months. And every single time the California senator has been the top of the charts. Why? Simple. She has the best combination of skills: She’s a charismatic candidate and debater who has been vetted on the national stage and would be a historic pick as the first African American and Indian American candidate on a national ticket.
At the end of the rigorous vetting process of amazing women up for the second-highest position in our government, California Senator Kamala Harris grabs the golden ticket and the support of millions of Citizens. Now, the final leg of this long journey in the 2020 Election begins as Citizens head to the polls or mailboxes to cast their ballots for the next President and Vice President of the United States Of America.
