Republican Senators, Lisa Murkoski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, and Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, could not in good conscience support the repeal of ACA, with no viable replacement in sight for the next two years. The GOP bill, American Health Care Act (AHCA), was fraught with issues that negatively impacted millions of American families overall access to affordable, and much needed health care. Most notably, preexisting conditions that would no longer be supported, and the substantial reduction in the amount of citizens qualifying for Medicaid. The ‘Reboot’ of the repeal from famous fail in March 2017, obviously did not change much, and overall Senate sentiment remains ‘No Deal On Repeal’ of Obamacare.

Marches like the highly successful ‘Women’s March’, protest, and other civic actions across the country have increased since the end of the 2016 Presidential Election cycle. Everyday citizens are calling on their legislatures to ‘Do the right thing’ or they will use the power to vote to oust them in 2018.

Well, it appears at least, these three civic-minded women are listening to their constituents, and making a concerted effort to do the job their citizens hired them to do. Put people over partisan politics and protect all American families. Above all else, consider the code of doctors when it comes to the citizens they serve, first do no harm. Senator Shelley Moore Capito may have said it best, “I did not come to Washington to hurt people”.
