The month of March is ‘Women’s History Month’ and Makers organization, the largest collection of women’s stories is asking women to #BeBold and continue the momentum in the spirit of the ‘Women’s March On Washington’ and the 2017 ‘Makers’ conference. On Wednesday March 8, International Women’s Day takes place and the Womens March is honoring it with “A Day Without a Woman” campaign strike. Interntional Women’s Strike USA offers an answer to the question and hashtag #WhyIStrike?
“In the spirit of solidarity and internationalism, in the United States March 8th will be a day of action organized by and for women who have been marginalized and silenced by decades of neoliberalism directed towards working women, women of color, Native women, disabled women, immigrant women, Muslim women, lesbian, queer and trans women”.
Additional details on how you can participate and #NowGetInvolved, provided by ‘Makers’ at ‘All You Need To Know #DayWithoutAWoman’.
Women’s March encourages participants to Complete The Pledge via their site, then take action on one or more of the following:
1. Take the day off from work (paid and unpaid)
2. Avoid shopping for one day (except to support small, women/minority-owned businesses)
3. Wear red in solidarity
