NORTH CAROLINA LOCAL CANDIDATES DEBATE-OCTOBER 11

North Carolina Local Debates

With all the excitement around a historic Presidential year, our local elections and candidates aren’t getting much buzz in the news. Is this a disservice for the voters; given this year, in particular, is the year of the voter. So what does that mean?

This is a Congressional year, which means depending on the state, voters will be selecting some of the most crucial offices that directly impact their day to day. So, which key offices are at stake? All local offices should be of great interest to voters, but a laser focus should be placed upon these key races, Governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, State Houses, and District Court Judges. Why, because their legislative decisions will most impact you. For example, the NC legislation that has garnered national attention, and not in a good way, is what many have come to know as the ‘Bathroom Bill’ or House Bill 2(HB2). As a direct result of this legislation, it has been reported the state of NC may have suffered Billions in potential revenue losses, when you factor in cancellations of major concerts, and professional ball clubs like NCAA’s recent decision to bail over HB2. The implications and elements of Civil Rights violations, and which of your candidates defends or opposes this legislation is a profound factor in how you vote or should vote. So, demand that your local and national media cover those Elections that most greatly impact your day to day.

Be informed, tune in to the debate for answers to other NC issues like Coal Ash spill impacting citizens drinking water, voting rights legislation that was found to be unconstitutional, the real ‘Teacher Pay’, why our educators are exiting the state, and more.

Note: Local candidates do not often have sufficient resources, financial or otherwise to get their message out to voters, and routine media coverage is very limited or non-existent. So, find your local candidates, and support your choice, then enjoy the privilege of voting.
