Capital Breached
A Joint Sessions Of Congress held at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, to formally certify the newly elected President and Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. This ceremony was interrupted by pro-Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol in a mob-like fashion, breaching the perimeter, and disrupting proceedings forcing a lockdown for the safety of the public officials inside.

Pro-Trump Supporter Dead
At least one pro-Trump supporter confirmed shot and killed by police during the Capital breach intervention. A report from Lindsay A. Watts of Fox 5 DC shared the following social media post regarding the woman that lost her life:
The family confirms woman shot and killed at Capitol is Ashli Babbit. She owned a business in San Diego w/ her husband who did not come to DC. “I really don’t know why she decided to do this,” her mother-in-law tells me. Police have not confirmed the circumstances of the shooting.
According to CBS News reports, D.C. police chief Robert Contee announced the names of four people who died during what is deemed the ‘U.S. Capitol siege’, which included a 35-year-old woman we now know was Ashli Babbit. Additionally, three people believed to have died from medical emergencies during the riots.
CBS News also reports that D.C. police chief says 68 people arrested so far for the Capitol siege, and the department is working “to identify and hold each and every one of the violent mob accountable.” Police are working with local businesses and the FBI, and asking for tips to identify rioters.
According to statements by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser during a press conference, officers also reported being injured.
