Charlotte, North Carolina Democratic Mayor, Jennifer Roberts shows off her dance moves and parties with the people over the Labor Day weekend. She’s got moves talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, famous for ‘Dancing It Out’ can appreciate. This Mayoral race just got a lot more interesting.

With just four short days remaining to ‘Register and Vote’ early in Charlotte’s Mayoral race, this ‘Move’ by Jennifer may have landed her a few more votes. Jennifer is widely known as the ‘Peoples Politician’, consistently attending events where citizens congregate, and being a part of the celebration. In addition, she has been a strong advocate for LGBTQ rights, and her position against HB2 is well-known. She reaches out to her constituents for feedback on major decisions impacting Charlotte’s economic position, as referenced in her request regarding stadium funding. ExpressYourselfBlog’s articles dated January 26, 2017 titled Jennefer Roberts Supports We The People and April 22, 2017 titled Charlotte North Carolina’s 2017 Democratic Debate Kickoff touches on her commitment to community, that reads in part:
“Much of the Mayor’s agenda appears to focus on empowering the people. Most recently she reached out via Twitter to gain feedback from her constituents regarding allocating city budget towards funding a new stadium. The overwhelming response, no. At least, not right now. She heard them, no stadium funding”. ~ExpressYourselfBlog
Mayor Roberts has shown her constituents she is not afraid to stand up to the current administration, and her campaign reiterates it with the slogan ‘Standing Up For Charlotte. Standing Up To Trump’. If you have ever met Mayor Jennifer Roberts in person, you know that pretty much sums up who she is and what she stands for. It’s much more than a slogan for the citizens of Charlotte that support her. They know first hand that she has lived it. In the world of politics today, that is pretty rare. With her most recent moves, Charlotte Mayor, Jennifer Roberts may very well have danced her way into the hearts of a nation looking for freedom to simply party with the people, in what has shaped up to be a polarizing political landscape.
Whether or not partying with the people will help at the polls is hard to measure. Either way, it certainly can’t hurt.
